Labor Day Weekend
Friday-Monday, Aug. 30 - Sept. 2
Please come with us for a holiday weekend camping in Sequoia Nat. Park. We'll be staying in Dorst Campground, which is one of the prettier campgrounds in the Sierras. All of these photos are of Dorst. We have a large group site reserved that is well apart from the rest of the campsites.
One day we'll do a mild hike to a great 360-degree viewpoint. The other day we'll hike along a creek and have lunch at an awesome swimming hole some of us discovered on a previous trip (in the top photo). The weather is likely to be sunny with highs around 75.
Feel free to invite along friends you think will be fun additions to the group. Kids are welcome! However, thanks for making other arrangements for any pets that weekend. We'll have flush toilets in the campground and hot showers down the road.
Everyone will be asked to help with one of the meals (including shopping/prep/clean-up) and be served by others for the rest of the trip, Friday dinner through Monday breakfast. (Feel free to let me know if you have a preference of meal partners or for helping with breakfast, lunch or dinner.)
The cost of the trip will be $65 per person to cover the campsite fee, all the group's wine and beer for the weekend, our firewood and common supplies. (This cost applies to kids as well, though they won't be a part of the meal assignments.) I'm going to improve the wine quality a bit this year, in case you like good wine.
