Hermosa Beach Concert & Potluck Picnic

Hermosa Beach is once again putting on its series of concerts on the beach this summer.  I hope you can join us for a potluck picnic dinner for one of this year's concerts! 

The band that evening is the Coasters.  I'm sure you have all their CDs, so you know they're the 50s band which did songs such as Love Potion #9, Yakety Yak, Young Blood, Poison Ivy, etc.  I didn't even realize these relics were still alive, but in any case the band isn't the primary purpose of being down there.  They're mostly just a backdrop for a fun afternoon of socializing at the beach.  And these concerts provide the added benefit of the police not minding people drinking wine and beer on the beach! 

We'll plan to meet at 4:00, which will give us plenty of time to enjoy dinner before the concert.  If you'd like to join us, will you please bring an appetizer food item and some wine, beer or other beverage to share?  Don't need to bring a lot of either, as we should have plenty of both.  I'll bring plates, bowls, cups, utensils and napkins for everyone. 

We'll be just south of the Hermosa pier, halfway between the pier and lifeguard tower #10.  We'll be on the ocean side of the crowd, away from the Strand.  I'll have several large tan blankets spread, and we should be easy to spot if you walk along the beach near the water.  Feel free to bring a beach chair, if you'd like.  Kids of all ages are welcome. 

If you want to join us, will you please RSVP to me, just so I can let you know if anything changes in our plans?  No problem if you respond and end up not being able to make it; this will just let me know who's considering playing with us.  Thanks!
