Camping at Tuolomne Meadows Tuolomne Meadows is a magical part of Yosemite. The meadows are large and very pretty. These photos show the Tuolomne River as it winds through the main meadow. Tuolomne is in the high country of Yosemite, and the scenery there borders on spectacular. Tuolomne Meadows is far from Yosemite Valley and the accompanying crowds, and it has comparatively little development. We have a large group campsite reserved in the Tuolomne Meadows campground, which has flush toilets. There are hot showers a couple miles down the road. We'll be in the High Sierras, where the evenings are usually a bit colder than other trips we've done. The days should be in the 70s.
One evening we'll enjoy a sunset dinner at Olmsted Point, with an incredible view of Half Dome, Clouds Rest, Tenaya Lake and the surrounding area in every direction. The other evening we'll have a leisurely Champagne Dinner in our campsite.
Kids beyond the crying age are definitely welcome to join us, and we'll probably have a couple on the trip. As usual, please plan to make other plans for babies and pets...thanks much!
The cost of the trip is $55 per person, including all of the wine and beer for the weekend, the campsite fee, a mountain of firewood and our common supplies. Please note: I'll be closing sign-ups to do the meal assignments on Friday, August 6, so I'll need to have your check in hand by then to know you're coming...thanks!
Let me know if you have any questions about the trip.
