A evening of wine tasting, featuring...

Wines From The
Southern Hemisphere 

May 21st -- 7:00 p.m.
at my place in Redondo Beach

Plan to join us for an evening exploring a variety of the better wines from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Chile and Argentina.  Each of these regions has a reputation for particular wines, such as Malbec from Argentina, Pinotage from South Africa and Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand. We'll taste these and several other wines that evening, all generally in the $20-30 range.

I'll be making a variety of hors d'oeuvres to accompany the wine, including:

• Caviar Cucumbers with Creme Fraise

• Crab & Manchego Quesadillas

• Crostini w/ Goat Cheese, Apple Chutney and Roasted Garlic

• Smoked Salmon w/ Caper/Red Onion Relish

• Endive with Ginger Wasabi

The format of the evening will be largely informal.  We'll pause briefly at one point to divide into teams for a quick trivia contest with questions on the southern wine regions.  An excellent bottle of wine will be given to the winning team to share that evening!
