An Evening In Provence
Saturday, September 25th, 6:30-10:00 p.m.
La Tour de Provence, in Redondo Beach

Please join us for an evening of food, wine
and gathering with friends (les amis). First we will sample
cocktails, or "aperitifs", such as pastis and kir, typical of France's
sunny south. Then we will be presented with multiple dishes of the
region, "les specialites". We will also sample regional wines,
"les vins".
La Tour de Provence is a retail store
featuring art, decorative items and gifts imported from France.
But more importantly, it's a cool place for a social gathering! It
has a rather pleasant ambience (as long as you don't hate French Country
decor).

The front of the store houses Galinette
Bistro, a small cafe from which the evening's food will be provided.
We'll enjoy a diversity of Provencal cuisine items, enough for at least
a light dinner.
Among the dishes we'll enjoy are Chicken
Provencal, Parisian Ham w/ Gruyere, Ratatouille de Provence, Chicken,
Roquefort & Pear Crepes, and much more.

Laurent LaTour, the owner of the shop, will
be selecting a range of wines from Provence and the Rhone Valley for the
evening. Laurent is eager to introduce people to the store, and we
anticipate him doing a good job with both the food and wine.
Tashia is coordinating with Laurent, and she assures us we'll have a lot
of good wine! :) |

As you might have guessed, we'll probably
play one short game (quick and painless, we promise!), with a $50 bottle
of Chateauneuf du Pape going to the winning team (minus tastes for the
hosts).
The cost for this gathering is $35
including dinner and all of the wine for the evening. This will go
entirely to the cost of the food and wine, as Laurent is providing the
venue at no cost. We'll take sign-ups based on when we receive your
checks (not refundable if you bail), which you can send payable to "LaTour

Feel free to invite any friends you'd like!
You'll need to send your check in advance, so we can be sure to have enough
food and wine for everyone. Because of the size of the
store, we'll have to limit the event to 40-50 people. (That is, if
check number 41 is from Dan Bresnahan, we'll be limiting it to 40 people.)

La Tour de Provence is located at 2503
Artesia Blvd. in Redondo Beach.
It's about a quarter mile west of Inglewood Ave., on the north side of the
street. It's between Felton Lane to the east and Mackay Lane to the
west, both of which have traffic lights on Artesia.
